Applying Effects Using Filters
Using Filters from the Filter Menu in Photoshop can lead to some great effects. Don’t forget that you can apply the effects selectively. Below are screenshots of the 1. final image, 2. output from Accented Edges Filter, and 3. the Layer Mask I used to selectively add the effect. Generally I add an Inverse (black) Layer Mask and paint in the effects using a white brush.

It can be helpful to zoom in and out inside the Filter Gallery to see the output preview in more detail. To zoom: Ctrl or Com +/-

Lovely image. I’d really like to see the background image before applying the Accented Edges Filter too.
