I’m sorry, i am completely lost already. Following her directions I cannot find Victoria 4. If I follow her directions in the library list, down to DAZ people, there are no “Actors”. I only see Basic Child, Basic Female, Basic Male, Genesis 2 Base Female, Genesis 2 Base Male, and Genesis.
Kevin: All of that generation is found under the Poser Format on the Content Menu Pane, which I have to say is really challenging to use because it is not organized like the other generations. Victoria 4 is found under Figure>DAZ People. A lot of information, including finding content, can be found on some of these beginning tutorials on DAZ Studio. I didn’t want to “reinvent the wheel.” Here is a link to that series of articles: https://www.daz3d.com/help/help-daz-3d-video-tutorials. If you join the FB page, I can add an image to show you where exactly the figures can be found.
Raylee O: If you go to the beginner’s tutorials on the DAZ Help web page here: https://www.daz3d.com/help/help-daz-3d-video-tutorials#downloading, find a video entitled: “Mapping Custom Paths.” That leads you through the process. You need to link both your DAZ Studio Formats and your Poser Formats. How do I know this? I could not find any of my content from Victoria and Michael 4 and their generation. Ultimately, it was the DAZ Studio Help Desk that did it for me. I filed a ticket, and within a day, all my materials were found.
I find this hard to believe. I purchased a course that doesn’t have the same menu as I do so it’s impossible to follow along. This is a rather complicated program so a clear way to teach the program would be helpful. Sure not sure it’s worth it.
Tonnie W.: I actually had to uninstall and re-install everything. But, I still cannot find Victoria 4 anywhere. I have joined to Facebook group and look there for your post of this. The only thing I get under the Figure> DAZ people are Basic Child, Basic Female, Basic Male, Genesis 2 Base Female, Genesis 2 Base Male, and Genesis.
I cannot find Victoria 4. Are other people still having problems. I made the mistake of upgrading too and now wondering if I’m wasting time/money if the instructions are not clear. I don’t want to be overwhelmed chasing something that is always in another location. I’ve just gone through my system crashing and angst reigns. How are others doing?
ALAS, no Victoria or Michael 4! To all who are looking for Victoria and Michael 4, they are no longer included in the program. I found this out after making the videos. I’ve reached out to DAZ Studio and never received an answer as to why they eliminated these characters. One of the members of the Facebook group stated that in her experience, using the later generations makes it much easier because they are easier to work with.
Merrie A, I can hear your frustration! I had the same problem when beginning to use the program. I used the City Lite set-up that came in my DAZ Studio for all the beginning series. I do use different set-ups for the bonus videos. I created a handout that reviewed the panes, where to find them, and what was important about them. This handout is available on the resource page as Free Ebook. There is a lot of help available on the Facebook page.

After loading DAX and following along with the DAZ generations explained, I do not see the Victoria 4 at all. Did I not download correctly?
Kevin T says
never mind, my bad
Kevin T says
take that back, it is not in the location she states, the forms are in a different location.

Is there any guidance on moving files off C:\ and onto another drive? I’m afraid I’ll make a mess of things if I don’t have instructions.
Andrei says
Raylee, I have not attempted this myself, but I found this doc that might be helpful to get you started: https://helpdaz.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/207847553-How-to-Use-Your-File-Manager-System-to-Organize-Your-Content-in-4-9
