Day to Night at Bag End by Tanya Wallis

In this Photoshop tutorial, Tanya Wallis will transform day into night, showing you how to do an optional sky replacement along the way. You will also see how to add warm, inviting light sources and ambient light to imbue the image with character and curiosity. By the end, you’ll feel like you can walk right up to the door to be welcomed by the Bagginses. Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom are required (most releases will work). Other nonessential plugins used include:
- Color Efex Pro 4 – from the Nik Collection (now free from Google)
- Painter – ParticleShop
This tutorial has both a video and written component.

There was a ton of information in this tutorial, and it’s very good. However, I found some parts of the video went a little fast (at least for my experience level) and I kept having to stop the video, look at the directions, and sometimes Google how to do things. I wish the written directions on this one were a little more detailed. Also, would love some source files to study along with. All in all, it was a challenging but fantastic tutorial, which I will probably have to do a few more times to really get the skills down.
Thanks for the feedback Kimberly! I did tend to go a bit fast. Glad you enjoyed it!
Are you selling prints of this pic? I would love one!
