Surrender by Leslie Schrader-Fagnan

Learn about Leslie Shraeder-Fagnan’s thought process and workflow as she walks you through creating this piece, Surrender, from start to finish. In this Photoshop tutorial, Leslie adds a model to a gradient image, liquifies the hair and dress, blends the focal point for an underwater effect, accentuates the highlights and shadows, and then adds clouds, water, bubbles, debris, and a forlorn teddy bear. See how she uses Curves Adjustments to add light and Color Balance Adjustments to unify these components into this final heart-wrenching image.
This tutorial contains both a video and a written component.

I would love to be able to do this but got lost ….obviously I have a long road ahead of me to learn. When refreshed, I’ll go through it again. Thanks so much for posting.
I am most willing to help!
Wonderful tutorial and image.
Thank you, Michael!
Hi Leslie, your work is fantastic, I think I said that before. Finally I got here and went through your tutorial. Just saying what all the others are saying before, for us “newbies” it’s hard to comprehend all the steps and curve adjustment layeres upon dozen on top of each other?!? And the composition the way you did it it’s really great. Thanks for sharing it.
