Absolutely love this tutorial. I have a more difficult time following video tuts, too fast and too small, so this is wonderful. Thanks so much for the lesson.
Howard M says
Thank you so much Karin. I’m signed in on My husbands account as I can’t seem to reply to anyone from my own. Andrei is looking into it.

This is a great piece. My only comment is, for us newbies, you don’t say how you achieved the fractals – is this something you created in PS? Or another program? Or bought as separate graphics? It would be useful to know. Thanks.
Kevin T says
I agree, would like to know where you got the fractals.

Thank you Margaret and Kevin. Fractals can be purchased or made with the correct software. I purchased these from Raw Exchange. However recently I have made a few of my own with Corel Painter. Flame Painter is also a reasonably priced software that can also make fractals.
Hope this help both of you out.

Thank you!

If you’re a little bit technically inclined you can try Jwildfire to create your own fractals. It has a steep learning curve (but lots of tutorials available), but then you can get very impressive results. you can find it (for free, since it’s open source) here: http://jwildfire.org/

Compliments Gail, et merci pour le tutoriel bien expliqué !
Pour moi, le tutoriel écrit est plus facile à suivre que la vidéo.

Thank you so much for sharing so much with us! It is a wonderful, inspirational tutorial. I just wonder whether you could write where you obtained the stock photo of the model. I know you said it, but I could not quite understand it. Are there free stock fractals available too?
Ruth D says
Jacqueline and other newbies like myself……check on “DEVIANTART”……in search field, type in free fractals and see what you come up with……
Gail E says
Hi Jacqueline,
Thank you so much!!
The model is from Depositphotos.com. This one I paid for. I don’t know about free fractals, I do know if you pay for these you will use them over and over again and definitely get your moneys worth.
Take care.

Gail, I loved your tutorial and the way of explaining. The commentary was simple to follow and the results and your art, as always is magical. Am just dipping my toes into the wealth of tutorials at Shift Art, and am glad I have started with this one. many thanks.
Gail E says
Thanks Ajay!! I’m always watching and learning too. I think if I get one tidbit out of each tutorial then it is worth it.
Caroline K says
Thanks for the tutorial, very easy to follow, and a really great piece. You make it sound so easy!!!!
Gail E says
Hi Caroline, not all pieces are easy but this one is certainly doable!
Debra K says
Thank you for a lovely tutorial. Can I make one suggestion. When you finish with all the layers just select the top layer and make the move ctrl +alt + shift +e. There is no need to add an extra layer. This will give the same result but just cuts out one step. Hope you don’t mind me mentioning this.
Gail E says
Thanks Debra! One of those things I learnt and always do it that way, however I did wonder why I needed it.
